this is the first of only three acoustic Grateful Dead performance of Iko Iko. To be Sure, The 80 acoustic sets are pure perfection, but Don’t overlook the evolution of Drums->Space as the creative vehicle from which the 80s Dead was born. Jerry said he loved making music in the sections ‘between’ songs (like Scarlet to Fire). The 80,81,Dead are pure evolutionary motion. This period took the late 70s musicianship back to the roots, brought in electronic music, and Space take it back to the early Dead of the late 60s.
