Arrived the day before. Large amount of people did the same, it made for a fun time the night before. New Riders then Willie Nelson before the main event. It was a hot day, field of stadium was general admission with many heads jumping down the 9 foot wall from the stands. By the second set everyone was where they wanted to be. Fire on the mountain had a new 3rd verse. Scarlet>Fire and the Estimated>Eyes were long, deliberate and full of Grateful energy. At the end of the show the scoreboard congratulated the band on their upcoming Egypt trip. I thought about going for 3 minutes,,,, Drove a hitchiker to midtown who was telling us about Dead shows at the Rock Palace in Island Park and some venue in Brooklyn. He was very informative about “how the Dead used to be”.
