This show is not to be overlooked. But it is pretty hard to do that given it includes the first Shakedown, though the rendition itself is much like the studio take and a distance from the funky, jammed out, and considerably lenghtier versions the boys would put together in future years. Also having the first From the Heart of Me might not make the show quite as noteworthy, but it is something. Beyond these two tunes, the night at the Rocks is pure sweetness. The Drums> Ollin Arageed and NFA> Black Peter> Sugar Mags that follow are our highlights, but there is a lot to love here in the waning days of Keith and Donna’s tenure with the Dead.
