One of my favorite shows! I met Jerry before the concert and asked him what they were going to open with and he said “I don’t know” with a “Who cares?” smile. It was flipping hot. The China-Crazy-Rider was incredible and the Althea was perfect. Santana and David Lindley as well. I think of this show as the start of when the band really turned it around and smoked it during late 88-1990.

As of today’s date, July 29, 2021, the songs on the Archive in Charlie Miller’s 24 bit recording are out of order, unfortunately starting with Crazy Fingers. The original post of the soundboard recording has everything in order: https://archive.org/details

It was an amazing run and July 29th was especially far out. I recall the whole show and post-show Shakedown scene to be rather, shall we say, abstract. It was cognitively confusing in more ways than I can explain. This was a reality deconstructing show and place. Laguna Seca Dead indeed.
