Here we have some excellent rehearsals of Crazy Fingers, Help on the Way, and Franklin’s Tower, all of which the Dead debuted less than two weeks later on the seventeenth of June and were, of course, off Blues for Allah. 1975 saw the Dead in a real transition period with Mickey rejoining the boys, the semi-hiatus for the band that had begun in the fall of the previous year, some new material, and the exploration of a new sound that would reach its apogee in the ’77 and early ’78.
