What we have cued up is a partial soundboard of the second set, the only board in circulation. In addition to the first half and what is below, the Dead also played a Sugar Mags> Lovelight to close out the show. It was Pigpen’s last Lovelight. While there is no copy of the Lovelight on Archive, the Dead did release this Lovelight as a bonus track on Rockin’ the Rhein. A fairly decent audience recording also exists of the show (made with a “mono crappy Pye cassette recorder with hand-held mike,”), but it, too, ends with the Sing Me Back Home. Regardless, the soundboard that we have cued up here shows that this night was all the match of the rest of Europe ’72.
