Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (FLAC > AIFF > Final Cut > Soundtrack Pro > AIFF CD tracking via Audacity > FLAC16 via xACT w/meta-tagging)
Notes:
Notes: The SBD channels were swapped for this matrix. SBD dead air was trimmed out between songs. Mix fluctuations in the SBD during Jack Straw. Jerry is low for most of the track. Two clicks were removed during Tennessee Jed using Soundtrack Pro. Select tracks were gently EQ’d because of sonic changes, rather than the entire show. The AUD dropout in Let It Grow was doctored to not be noticeable. Lamarre’s tape brings a nice warm, spacious energy. The Tiger sounds particularly good. I opted to not patch the brief AUD cuts with a different source given his recording’s distinctive sound.

I went to what I believe was the Dead’s first appearance at the Greek Theater in October ’67 on a benefit bill with Charles Lloyd and Bola Sete. They returned in October ’68 but, as I have always heard, because of some backstage shenanigans with some UC coeds (probably involving a nitrous bottle,) they were banned and didn’t appear there again until ’82.

they returned in Sept 81, but that must have been very cool to see the 67 Dead at the Greek, alas I was a little too young
