In just the fourth show of the spring East Coast tour, the boys delivered a mesmerizing night of music. Though the first set should not be missed, the show takes on a special cast in the second half of the night. It begins as the boys brings some fiery intensity out of the break with a sizzling Help> Slip> Franklin’s. Jerry smokes the Slipknot!, conjuring some dark and demonic forces before the entire band unleashes a scorching, soaring Franklin’s. The Woman Smarter that comes out next starts off as a perfunctory mid-set rocker before transitioning into a real exploratory vehicle and delivering the boys to a majestic Eyes. The Drums and Space are both exquisite, with more than a few percussive earthquakes while Mickey and Billy take over. As the Space seems to amble into aimless noodling, the boys are actually stalking Black Peter, which suddenly appears, rich and languid. From there, the band takes it out with a fiesty Throwin’> NFA.
