The Grateful Dead were the musical guests on Saturday Night Live. They busted out an Alabama Getaway and a Saint of Cirucmstance, both off Go To Heaven, which was released later in the month, on April 28. This was the Dead’s second and final performance. The other occurred on November 11, 1978. Unfortunately, while we have the audio below, we do not have any free and accessible video source for the evening, largely because SNL keeps their material locked down behind paywalls. The performance is a part of the SNL Season 5 package, and the single evening – episode 15 – which is available on Amazon.
