This show has the dubious distinction of being one of the worst shows of probably the weakest year for the Dead. Another nominee would be the second night at Giants Stadium.

Above average audience recording with lots of talking. Seems like it should be trackable to 2 discs, but the long Iko Iko “messes” things up.

These 2 nights in Bham were the 1st time in 15 years that The Dead returned to AL..the last time being 1980,I was at these shows,We drove up from Auburn,AL with friends,The lot scene was really chill,The cops were actually way cooler than everyone had expected,The 1st night was a bit slower than the 2nd night,Both shows were actually REALLY good for 1995! Despite what the person writing for this website had to say…These were the last two night runs of spring tour,The next show was in Tampa with the Black Crowes opening,it was 1 night only…The second night of BHam brought out “Mean” Willie Green – Drummer for The Neville Bros,He played Mickey’s kit during Mathilda-drums..He and Jerry traded licks back and forth and Jerry lit up with a big smile during that part of the show, Apparently Jerry had lunch with Donna Gene, she’s a bama native, and he asked her if she wanted to sit in but she declined..All and all these are some of the better shows of spring 1995,Not as good as Charlotte or Memphis but as good as Atlanta and Tampa..I did that entire spring tour,This was the last really Fun tour,Summer tour that year ended up being a traveling Shit show, both musically and crowd wise..
