Shorter show for some reason. The Good Lovin jam is probably the highlight and these 71 Bobby McGee’s are always a treat. Rippin Sugar Mags solo, and oh yeah really cool Wharf Rat.

My first Dead show. I was a freshman at Beloit College and rode up to Madison with a group of fellow Pranksters. What a night…

The first highlight of the show was Jerry Garcia on pedal steel guitar with the opening act, New Riders of the Purple Sage. Jerry’s solo on one song was indescribably beautiful. Visually, he radiated pure bliss. My first close encounter with Jerry. Bob Weir also brought his unique energy to the show, suddenly appearing atop a 12-foot high amp.
