This studio recording is not necessarily from the first of February, 1971, but rather sometime during that month before the Capitol Theater shows. And, the last couple tracks are recordings from the late 1960s. These are worth a listen for anyone interested in band banter and the development of the Dead’s sound, but these versions do not stand up on their own.
