The Warehouse

New Orleans, Louisiana

The fateful New Orleans police raid and arrests had come the night before. Sharing the bill with Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac, this show was a bust fund benefit. The Lovelight, with Peter Green, rocks, and it is pretty hard to say anything bad about the rest of the tunes. The New Orleans Times-Picayune has a great story looking back on the bust from 2014.

I was there and still have the flyer from this weekend, which was opening weekend. The Flock opened the first 2 nights, followed by F Mac and then the Dead; they couldn’t make the “Bread for the Dead” show so it was F Mac and the Dead only.

This was my very first Dead show. Thee crowd was so small that you had no trouble getting within arms reach of the stage. All of Fleetwood Mac joined the boys on stage for Lovelight. Following the show, instead of running off, they walked to the edge of the stage and chatted with some of thee fans! I became a fan for life.

I love this show. But what about the cuts in Other One? Neither verse is heard on the tape. But it is one intense Other One… oh, and no 2nd cryptical?
