Madison Square Garden

New York, New York

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

This show – as well as a bit of the rest of the East Coast tour had been rescheduled after Jerry suffered from laryngitis in latter months of 1978. The first set is solid goodness, but the real highlights of the night are the Shakedown Street and the Estimated> Eyes. Just listen to that transition between the latter tunes and hear the New York crowd roar their approval. Unfortunately, the PA system starts to squawk during Black Peter and mars the rest of the music. It was so bad that at one point, you can even hear Donna yell out in response to the screeching.
