Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center
Oakland, California

This show was probably the best of the run at the Henry Kaiser Convention Center that started off 1986 for the Dead. It was the second of the Chinese New Year shows, and a Chinese dragon made its way through the place and across the stage during Space. Out of that Space comes The Other One rocketing off at a phenomenally heady pace before coming a little back down to earth. If you like 80s Dead, then this show has some things to offer, but it is not a true gem. Still, you could do a lot worse, especially in the dismal year for the Grateful Dead that was 1986.
