A rare Clementine starts the show and makes you wish they played more of them. A fabulous, elemental sort of Spanish Jam comes out, which is probably the highlight of this recording of solid ’68 Dead. After the bullfight, a sweet Caution jam leads into a cut – after only three minutes – Dark Star. This is some great music, but it is sadly just a portion of the entire evening. The Road Trips, volume 2, number 2 release adds a Viola Lee Blues and, on the bonus disc, a Schoolgirl. Still, there was certainly some more great stuff on this evening that has not yet seen the light of day; hopefully it will make its way out of the Vault before too long.

What makes this my favorite show of 1968 (all time favorite is 3/1/69) is the sound. That fuzziness gives everything a weird, cosmic feel, especially on the vocals. Bob especially sounds like some guru on NPC.
